Notifications
See what Toskar finished or needs, and have it reach you by email, on your phone, or on a service you run.
The bell next to the Toskar name shows unread notifications: finished and failed automations, tools an automation skipped, finished or failed model downloads, finished or failed exports, deployed AIs, newly paired computers, paired computers that go offline and come back, and models that keep crashing. Choose one to go to it, or filter by category. Mark all read clears the count, and Dismiss removes one. A notice that repeats within 10 minutes is counted on the first one, such as "failed · 3 times".
Notifications are kept by the daemon, so ones that arrived while the window was closed are waiting. Finished and failed automations also post a desktop notice, unless Settings turns task-finish notifications off.
What you need
- For email, your own SMTP server's details. For push, the free ntfy app, or your own ntfy server. For a webhook, a service you run.
In the app

- Choose a notification to go to it, or filter by category.
- Mark all read clears the count, and Dismiss removes one.
- A notice that repeats within 10 minutes is counted on the first one, such as "failed · 3 times".
Send them elsewhere
- Open Settings › Email, push, and webhooks.
- Add email, push (ntfy), or a webhook, and choose which categories it gets and how important they must be, such as errors only.
- Choose Test. It sends one right away, and says what's wrong if it fails.
For push, install the free ntfy app on your phone (or open ntfy.sh in a browser), choose Add push (ntfy), and subscribe to the topic it shows. On the public ntfy.sh server anyone who knows a topic can read it, so the topic is random and only "You have a new Toskar notification" is sent unless you choose Title and text. You can also run your own ntfy server. Set Open notifications at to this Toskar's address to open a notification by tapping it.
Warning: A webhook's signing secret is shown once, when you add it. Copy it then.
Quiet hours
Quiet hours hold desktop notices, email, push, and webhooks overnight, and send them when quiet hours end. Errors still go out unless you choose Hold everything. The bell shows every notification at once.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Not delivered everywhere | A delivery failed. Toskar tries again after 1, 5, and 30 minutes. A problem retrying can't fix, such as a wrong password, stops at once: fix it, then choose Test. |
| No desktop notice for a finished automation | Settings turns task-finish notifications off. They're still in the bell. |
| A push shows only You have a new Toskar notification | That's the default on the public ntfy.sh server, where anyone who knows a topic can read it. Choose Title and text to send more. |
