Toskar Desktop and Toskar Mobile

This policy covers the Toskar apps for Mac, Windows, Linux, and iPhone, made by Yeix (YEIXIO LLC). Toskar was called Yggdrasil before it was renamed, and the App Store may still show that name. For this website, see what toskar.ai measures.

No account, no tracking

The apps don't create an account and don't include an analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting service. Yeix doesn't receive your chats, documents, or files.

What stays on your devices

Your chats, documents and knowledge, memories, settings, logs, and the AI models you install stay on the computer that runs Toskar, in its data folder (on a Mac, ~/Library/Application Support/Toskar, or ~/Library/Application Support/Yggdrasil for an install from before the rename; the Mac App Store edition keeps its own copy inside its sandbox). On iPhone, chats with a model on the phone and the models you install stay on the phone.

When the apps use the network

Only when you do something that needs it:

  • Installing a model downloads it from Hugging Face (huggingface.co), after you choose it.
  • Searching the web or reading a web page to answer you sends the search or the page's address to that service or site.
  • Features you turn on or set up yourself send what they need to the place you choose: other computers you pair on your network, the local API, connected services such as email, calendar, or tool sources, an external AI server, notifications by email, push, or webhook, and maps and places.
  • A model rating is sent only when you choose to share it: the stars and reasons, the model, your computer's general class, a random rating ID, and, if you choose, how the model runs and the language you used it in. Never your name, files, or chats. Showing everyone's ratings is off until you turn it on.

On a computer, Settings lists everything that left it in What left this computer.

The iPhone app

To control a computer you already run Toskar on, you create an API key on that computer and enter it on the phone. The phone keeps the address and key in the iOS Keychain and asks for local network access when you connect. Chats you have with that computer stay on that computer; the phone sends it your messages and its time zone, so answers know today's date.

Deleting your data

Delete a chat in the app, or remove the app and its data folder. On iPhone, Settings in the app can reset the phone and delete its models, and removing the app deletes its data. A rating you shared can be removed from the rating dialog.

Children

The apps aren't directed to children and don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes and contact

We'll update this page when the apps change what they send. Questions: info@yeix.io, or see Support.
