Toskar Relay
Reach your own AI from anywhere.
Away from home, your phone, tablet, watch, or TV still reaches Toskar on your computer, with no router setup. The connection is encrypted from the device to your computer, so the relay in between can't read it.
For people who use Toskar away from home, and for organizations that want to run the relay themselves.

Access from anywhere
Toskar's hosted relay, as a subscription: $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year, for your computer and every device paired with it. For you, your home, or a small office.
How to subscribe →Your own relay
The same relay, on your organization's hardware and under its own name, with nothing passing through Toskar. Licensed by the number of computers connected to it at once.
For organizations →What it does
What you get
No router setup
Your computer keeps one connection open to the relay, so it needs no open port and no public address. It works behind a router that won't open a port, or an internet provider that shares one address among many homes.
Encrypted from your device to your computer
Traffic is encrypted to the certificate your device saved when you paired it. The relay passes it along without being able to read it, or answer in your computer's place.
The most direct way first
A device tries your home network, then your computer directly, and uses the relay only when nothing more direct works. Settings on the device shows which way it took.
One subscription for every device
It covers your computer and every device paired with it, and turns on by itself a few seconds after you pay.
How it fits
One system, four parts
Your models run on your computer, with Toskar Core or Toskar Pro. Toskar on your other devices uses them: directly at home, and through a relay when it has to away from home.
Access from anywhere
Turn it on in three steps
Access from anywhere is off until you turn it on. Toskar tries the free ways first, and the subscription is for when they don't work.
Step 1
Turn it on
On your computer, open API Access in Toskar Pro or Toskar Core, and turn on Access from anywhere.
Step 2
Check how it's reached
The line under the switch says how your computer can be reached. If it isn't yet, subscribe to Toskar's relay in the Toskar app, or, with Toskar Core, right there.
Step 3
Try it away from home
Take a paired device off your home Wi-Fi and open Toskar. Its Settings say how it got through.
Subscribe in the Toskar app on your phone or tablet, or, with Toskar Core, in API Access on your computer. Another device won't sell you a second subscription for the same computer.
For organizations
Run your own relay
Give everyone in your organization Toskar away from the office, with your Toskar servers kept off the internet entirely.
On your hardware, under your name
The relay runs on a small server or VM you control, at a name such as relay.example.com. Nothing passes through Toskar.
No inbound port on your servers
Each Toskar server keeps one outbound connection to your relay, and enrolls itself with a secret you give it in API Access.
It can't read anything
Encryption runs from each device to your Toskar server. The relay passes encrypted bytes and holds no key that opens them.
It never calls home
The license is checked on the relay itself. People sign in to Toskar, and removing a person or a device revokes it at once.
A VPN or your own reverse proxy can work instead, and the guide for organizations compares the ways in.
Privacy
What stays, and what leaves
Stays with you
- Your chats, files, and keys: the relay never sees or keeps them.
- What you send and receive, encrypted from your device to your computer.
- Everything, with your own relay: nothing from it reaches Toskar.
Leaves only when you use it
- To Toskar's relay: a random route ID for your computer, which computer your subscription is for and when it ends, and how much data went through it this month.
- Your computer's addresses, sealed so only your paired devices can read them, for 30 minutes at a time.
- When connections were made, to stop abuse, and the addresses connected only while they're connected.
- A device without a subscription never contacts Toskar's relay.
The policy lists everything the relay keeps, and for how long. The full app privacy policy
Requirements
What you need
- Your computer
- Toskar Pro or Toskar Core, with Access from anywhere turned on in API Access, and left running.
- Your devices
- The Toskar app, paired with your computer at home first.
- Your own relay
- A small Linux server or VM with a public address and port 443, a name with DNS for it and its subdomains, a TLS certificate your Toskar servers trust, and a license. It comes as archives for Linux, macOS, and Windows, and as a container image.
Price
What it costs
- Access from anywhere: $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year, in US dollars, for one computer and every device paired with it. Cancel any time where you bought it.
- Your own relay: licensed by the number of Toskar computers connected to it at once. Contact us at info@yeix.io for a price.
Toskar is open source. Buying Toskar or Toskar Pro pays for our work on it, and keeps Toskar Core free for everyone. The apps are the easy way in, not a paywall.
Questions
- Do I need the relay?
- Not at home: your devices reach your computer on your own network for free. Away from home, Toskar first tries to reach your computer directly, and a forwarded port or a VPN such as Tailscale works at no cost. The relay is for when none of that works, or you'd rather not set it up.
- Can the relay read my chats?
- No. The connection is encrypted from your device to your computer, and the relay only passes the encrypted bytes along. It never sees or keeps your chats, files, or keys.
- Do I need an account?
- No. A subscription bought in the app is checked with the App Store or Google Play, and one bought on your computer is checked with Stripe. The relay doesn't get your name or payment details.
- How do I cancel?
- Where you bought it: in your App Store or Google Play account, or with Manage billing in API Access on your computer.
- Does our own relay send anything to Toskar?
- No. A self-hosted relay checks its license on its own and never calls home, and nothing passes through Toskar's servers.
